| Putteridge Bury Bed and Breakfast is a beautifully resorted and converted traditional farmhouse built in the 1880's. Well located amongst the rolling Chiltern Hills, off the A505 between Luton and the historic market town of Hitchin. This is a very comfortable and peaceful guesthouse, popular with those attending functions and conferences at nearby Putteridge Bury Conference Centre and Offley Place. For those working locally, catching flights from Luton Airport or just passing through, you will find this accommodation more than suitable. Adjacent to the Icknield Way long distance trail, this location is ideal for horse riding, cycling or walking holidays.
Putteridge Bury B&B is a traditional farm house built in the 1800's and comprises five guest bedrooms. Many of these rooms are very large and spacious. We have rooms which can accommodate single, double, twin, triple, quad and 5 person occupancy. Larger rooms can be configured to accommodate groups and families wishing to share. The Superior Room has an en suite shower, toilet and basin, and all remaining rooms share the bathroom with toilet and the two other separate toilets along the hallway and downstairs. Bedrooms are tastefully decorated in neutral colours and soft fabrics.
B&B for Horses
Stabling in our spacious brick built stables can be booked in advance, or your horse can be turned out overnight in a hedged post & rail paddock. Hay, bedding on straw or shavings, and feed are available. Your horse must be up-to-date with inoculations and worming.
Overnight stabled accommodation, including bedding and hay. £15.00 We have a wide selection of horse feeds available to purchase, including mixes, barley, oats, Alfa-A, mollichaff and soaked sugar beet. Other feeds can be provided by prior arrangement or you can bring your own.
Location
The house is situated in the midst of the rolling Chiltern Hills and is surrounded by picturesque villages linked by an extensive network of bridleways, footpaths and green lanes. The ancient Icknield Way Long Distance trail passes just two miles to the north of us, and is easily reached via green lane from West Street , Lilley.
For those wishing to use us as a base for touring the historic sites and buildings of Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, we are within easy reach of Roman Verulamium and St Albans Abbey, George Bernard Shaw's House at Ayot St. Lawrence, Knebworth House, Hatfield House, the county town of Hertford, Chiltern Open Air Museum, Woburn Abbey and many many more. We keep a large stock of brochures, maps and literature to help you plan your trip.
