| Tan y Graig offers 4-star Bed and Breakfast accommodation in beautiful Vyrnwy valley 1 1/2 miles north of the pretty village of Meifod and 8 miles west of Welshpool. Tan y Graig is an 18th century stone farm house originally renovated by ourselves in 1990 and subsequently extended in 2000. The traditional décor is sympathetic to it’s farmhouse style.
Sample our Welsh breakfast with delicious home made bread in the beamed dining room. Evening meals are also available by prior arrangement.
The entrance hall has it’s original slate floor and the pine staircase leads up to the two bedrooms, both en-suite and with electric showers and shaving points. The double room has a king size bed and there is one twin bedded room. Both rooms have a sofa bed ideal for relaxing on in the evening and also ideal for one adult or two young children to sleep on, offering the ability for either room to accommodate a small family. Each room is equipped with a colour T.V., radio alarm,hair dryer,cork screw and wine glasses, beverage tray including tea, coffee, hot chocolate and bottled water.
The well established gardens have a lot to offer at various time of the year whether wanting to stroll or relax in one of the seating areas.
There is ample parking, including garaging for motor cycles and sports cars.

Meifod is ideally situated for numerous activities, including walking in the surrounding countryside, fishing in the River Vyrnwy, tennis and bowling in the village of Meifod, Powis Castle & Chirk Castle (NT), Erddig (NT), Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway, Llanrhaeadr waterfalls and Lake Vyrnwy, Quad Biking Centre, Golf Courses @ Welshpool, Llanymynech & Oswestry, Dingle nursery and gardens, Welshpool and Llangollen canals, horse riding, Bala watersports, swimming at the local leisure centres, Mere at Ellesmere...
There is a good range of eating establishments in the locality.
Tan Y Graig is situated 1 mile off the Glyndwr Way and is the penultimate stop when walking from Knighton to Welshpool. A pick up service is offered from the path to the accommodation by prior arrangement.
In addition to the Glyndwr Way, the locality also offers many walks of varying suitability ranging from a local River Walk of approx 1 hour duration to the Allt Y Main walk of 7 miles with a 1000 feet gradual ascent and steep route back down which takes in beautiful scenery across the Vyrnwy and surrounding valleys. Details of these walks, 10 in total, can be obtained at Tan Y Graig.
Tan Y Graig can offer short breaks for walkers wanting to partake in local walks or sections of the Glyndwr Way and walks in and around Lake Vyrnwy. Again offering a drop off and pick up service at cost plus packed lunches and evening meal by prior arrangement.
Transport can also be provided for anyone wishing to use the train at the start and end of their break.
